Denny Doyle

Robert Dennis Doyle (January 17, 1944 – December 20, 2022) was a left-handed-hitting second baseman who played in Major League Baseball for the Philadelphia Phillies, California Angels, and Boston Red Sox. He attended Morehead State University, where he played both baseball and basketball, and signed with the Phillies as a free agent after going undrafted in 1965. Doyle began his professional career in 1966 with the Class A Spartanburg Phillies and reached the majors in 1970, appearing in 112 games. He spent parts of four seasons in Philadelphia, playing 446 games and posting a .240 batting average with nine home runs and 92 RBI.
