Dick Lynch

Richard Dennis Lynch (1936–2008) played defensive back in the NFL for the Washington Redskins and New York Giants after starring at the University of Notre Dame. He twice led the league in interceptions, in 1961 and 1963, and recorded three interceptions in a single game on three separate occasions. In 1963 he earned first-team All-Pro honors and a Pro Bowl selection. During his first five seasons with the Giants, the team reached four NFL Championship Games (1959, 1961–1963). After retiring, Lynch spent four decades as a radio color commentator for Giants broadcasts, from 1967 through 2007.
