Dick Schnittker

Richard Dean Schnittker (May 27, 1928 – January 12, 2020) was a 6'5" power forward born in Kelleys Island, Ohio. He played at Ohio State University, where he also lined up at end on the football team during the 1949 season, helping the Buckeyes win a Big Ten title and reach the Rose Bowl. Schnittker spent six NBA seasons (1950–51; 1953–58) with the Washington Capitols and Minneapolis Lakers, averaging 8.3 points per game and winning championships with Minneapolis in 1953 and 1954. He was the first player to appear in the NBA Finals without having played a regular-season game that year.
