Doc Marshall

William Riddle "Doc" Marshall (September 22, 1875 – December 11, 1959) was born in Butler, Pennsylvania. His professional career ran from 1904 through 1909, placing him squarely in the deadball era, and he is most closely identified with the Brooklyn Robins of the NL. After his major-league days ended in 1909, he continued in professional ball through 1913. He was listed at 6'0" and 185 pounds. He batted and threw right-handed. For collectors, his most recognized appearance is in the iconic T206 White Border tobacco set issued 1909-11 by the American Tobacco Company. He died on December 11, 1959 in Clinton, Illinois and was interred at Woodlawn Cemetery in Clinton, Illinois.
