Donnie Freeman

Donavan Glen Lee "Donnie" Freeman (born August 14, 2005) is a Bahamian college basketball player who plays for the St. John's Red Storm of the Big East Conference, having previously played for the Syracuse Orange. Born in the Bahamas, he moved to Washington, D.C. at the age of six. Freeman attended St. John's College High School through his junior year, leading his team to a 32–4 record and a WCAC title as a junior. He transferred to IMG Academy before his senior year to play in the EYBL, averaging 10.5 points, six rebounds, and 1.5 assists across 20 regular season games. During his senior year, he was selected to play in the 2024 McDonald's All-American Boys Game. A consensus five-star recruit, Freeman was rated one of the top players in the 2024 class by major recruiting services. On May 11, 2023, following his junior year, he committed to Syracuse over offers from Alabama, Texas, Iowa, and Georgia Tech, becoming the highest-rated Syracuse commit since Carmelo Anthony.
