Duffy Lewis

George Edward "Duffy" Lewis (April 18, 1888 – June 17, 1979) was an American left fielder who played in Major League Baseball from 1910 to 1921. Born in San Francisco, California, he attended Saint Mary's College of California before making his MLB debut with the Boston Red Sox. With Boston he formed the Golden Outfield alongside Tris Speaker and Harry Hooper, and won three World Series championships (1912, 1915, 1916). The Red Sox traded him to the New York Yankees, where he played in 1919 and 1920, then to the Washington Senators for the 1921 season. He continued playing and managing in the minor leagues until 1929, later serving as a coach and traveling secretary for the Boston Braves. Lewis is a member of both the Boston Red Sox Hall of Fame and the Pacific Coast League Hall of Fame.
