Earl Hamilton

Earl Andrew Hamilton (1891–1968) was a left-handed pitcher who spent the bulk of his major league career with the St. Louis Browns (1911–17), also appearing for the Detroit Tigers (1916), Pittsburgh Pirates (1918–23), and Philadelphia Phillies (1924). Born in Gibson City, Illinois, Hamilton made his MLB debut on April 14, 1911. On August 30, 1912, he pitched a no-hitter against Detroit, notable for being the first no-hitter recorded without a strikeout; the Browns won 5–1 despite a Ty Cobb walk and an error allowing one run. His best season came in 1914, when he went 16–18 with a 2.50 ERA over 302⅓ innings.
