Ed Kea

Adriaan Jozef Kea (January 19, 1948 – August 31, 1999) was a Dutch-born Canadian defenceman who grew up in Collingwood, Ontario after his family emigrated from Weesp, Netherlands when he was four. He played in the National Hockey League from 1974 to 1983, spending time with the Atlanta Flames and the St. Louis Blues. His career ended following a severe head injury sustained in 1983 while playing for the Salt Lake Golden Eagles, the Blues' Central Hockey League affiliate; the injury left him permanently disabled. He was the uncle of NHL players Jeff Beukeboom and Joe Nieuwendyk.
