Ed Meador

Eddie Doyle Meador (August 10, 1937 – September 4, 2023) was an American professional football player who played cornerback for the Los Angeles Rams of the National Football League from 1959 to 1970.

Meador grew up in Russellville, Arkansas, and graduated from Russellville High School in 1955, where he was an All-Region and All-State football player and a three-sport letterman in football, basketball, and track. His Cyclones won the Region 3AA football championship in 1954. He attended Arkansas Tech University in Russellville, playing for the Wonder Boys from 1955 to 1958. He seldom left the field, serving as tailback, defensive back, and return specialist, and was a co-captain; he also played basketball and ran track for the school. Meador was named All-Conference in the Arkansas Intercollegiate Conference in 1957 and 1958 and was selected Little All-American following his senior season. Over his college career he rushed for 3,410 yards and scored 259 points, and Tech won the AIC championship in 1958.

Meador spent his entire twelve-season professional career with the Los Angeles Rams. He is a member of the Russellville High School Athletic Hall of Fame.
