Ed Sadowski

Edward Anthony Sadowski (1917–1990) was a 6-foot-5 center from Akron, Ohio who starred at Seton Hall University, where he led the Pirates to their only undefeated season in 1939–40. He went on to play professionally in the National Basketball League, the Basketball Association of America, and the NBA. As a member of the Boston Celtics in 1947–48, Sadowski averaged 19.4 points per game — third in the BAA — and earned All-BAA First Team honors, making him the first Celtic ever named to the All-BAA/NBA Team. That season he also guided Boston to its first postseason appearance.
