Ellis Kinder

Ellis Raymond "Old Folks" Kinder (July 26, 1914 – October 16, 1968) was a right-handed pitcher who spent his Major League Baseball career with the St. Louis Browns, Boston Red Sox, St. Louis Cardinals, and Chicago White Sox from 1946 to 1957. Born in Atkins, Arkansas, Kinder made his MLB debut at age 31 but went on to pitch for over a decade. He was one of the American League's top starters in 1949, going 23–6 with a .793 winning percentage and leading the league in shutouts. Moved to the bullpen in 1951, he became one of the AL's premier relievers, finishing with 102 wins, 102 saves, and a 3.43 ERA across 484 career games.
