Elmer Angsman

Elmer "Bud" Angsman (December 11, 1925 – April 11, 2002) played halfback for the Chicago Cardinals from 1946 to 1952 after being selected 16th overall in the 1946 NFL Draft. He played college football at Notre Dame from 1943 to 1945, including a reserve role on the 1943 national championship team. Angsman was the leading rusher on the 1947 Cardinals squad that won the NFL championship, and in the title game he set a championship record with 159 rushing yards on two 70-yard runs. He ranked among the NFL's top rushers in 1948 and 1949 and was selected to the inaugural Pro Bowl following the 1950 season.
