Ernie Green (born October 15, 1938, Columbus, Georgia) was a halfback and fullback for the Cleveland Browns of the NFL. He played college football at the University of Louisville from 1958 to 1961, rushing for more than 1,500 yards and earning All-American honors while twice leading the Cardinals in rushing. Originally drafted by the Green Bay Packers in the 14th round of the 1962 NFL Draft, Green was traded to Cleveland during training camp, where he established himself as one of the league's top running backs.
