Dossier

Floyd Andrew Robinson (born May 9, 1935) was a left-handed-hitting outfielder who spent the bulk of his Major League Baseball career with the Chicago White Sox (1960–1966), before finishing with stints with the Cincinnati Reds and the Oakland Athletics and Boston Red Sox in 1967–68. A San Diego native who starred in baseball and football at San Diego High School, Robinson bypassed a football scholarship to the University of Arizona to sign professionally with the San Diego Padres of the Pacific Coast League in 1954. He made his major league debut on August 10, 1960 against the New York Yankees.
