Frank Bowerman

Frank Eugene Bowerman (December 5, 1868 – November 30, 1948) was born in Romeo, Michigan. He put together 15 seasons in the majors, his service running from 1895 through 1909, and the Boston Braves of the National League stand as the club he is most identified with. His full professional career, counting minor-league campaigns, ran 24 years from 1888 to 1911. He also took the reins as a major-league manager during the 1909 season. He was listed at 6'2" and 190 pounds, and he hit and threw right-handed. Among collectors, he turns up on the T204 Ramly and T206 White Border issues, the two surveys that anchor his vintage card footprint and give pursuers more than one route to a representative card. He was 79 years of age at the time of his death. It took him 7 years of professional ball before he reached the majors. He stayed in the pro ranks for two more seasons after his last big-league appearance. He was roughly 27 years old at the time of his major-league debut. He died in Romeo, Michigan. He was laid to rest at Romeo Cemetery in Romeo, Michigan.
