Dossier

Frank Thomas Duffy (born October 14, 1946) played shortstop in Major League Baseball from 1970 through 1979 for the Cincinnati Reds, San Francisco Giants, Cleveland Indians, and Boston Red Sox. A 1964 graduate of Turlock High School — where he also played basketball and football — Duffy was inducted into the school's Athletics Hall of Fame in 1997. He is perhaps best known for his role in two notable trades: on May 29, 1971, he and pitcher Vern Geishert were sent to San Francisco in exchange for outfielder George Foster, and six months later he was traded alongside pitcher Gaylord Perry to Cleveland for Sam McDowell.
