Dossier

Frank Preston LeMaster (March 12, 1952 – March 23, 2023) was a professional football linebacker who played nine seasons in the NFL for the Philadelphia Eagles. Born in Lexington, Kentucky, he played college football at Kentucky before the Eagles selected him in the fourth round of the 1974 NFL draft. He became a key member of Philadelphia's defense alongside Bill Bergey and John Bunting, forming one of the stronger linebacking corps of the 1970s. LeMaster helped the Eagles reach Super Bowl XV following the 1980 season and earned his only Pro Bowl selection the following year. He was traded to San Francisco in 1984 and retired after failing to make the 49ers' roster.
