Alfred Joseph Parent (November 11, 1875 – November 2, 1972). A native of Biddeford, Maine, he died in Sanford, Maine. Standing 5-foot-7 and listed at 154 pounds, batted right-handed and threw right. He worked the major leagues from 1899 through 1911, spending the bulk of his career with the Chicago White Sox of the American League. His professional career stretched from 1896 to 1918, bracketing his big-league time with seasons in the minors at both ends. Among collectors of the era, his card appearance is anchored by the T206 White Border issue. He is interred at St. Ignatius Cemetery in Sanford, Maine.
