Gale Gillingham

Gale Herbert Gillingham (February 5, 1944 – October 20, 2011) played guard in the National Football League for ten seasons, spending his entire career with the Green Bay Packers (1966–1974, 1976). A native of Madison, Wisconsin, Gillingham grew up in Little Falls, Minnesota, where he was a fullback in high school and won the Minnesota state championship in the discus throw in 1962. He went on to play college football at the University of Minnesota before Green Bay selected him in the 1966 NFL Draft. He anchored the Packers offensive line through one of the franchise's most successful eras.
