Gene Brito

Gene Herman Brito (1925–1965) was a professional football player who spent nine seasons in the NFL as a defensive end, playing for the Washington Redskins and the Los Angeles Rams from 1951 to 1960. He played college football at Loyola Marymount University, where he competed in football, baseball, basketball, and track. Brito began his NFL career as an offensive end before moving to defensive end in 1953. He was named NFL Player of the Year by the Washington D.C. Touchdown Club following the 1955 season. In 1954 he played in the Canadian Football League for the Calgary Stampeders, earning an All-conference selection.
