Gene Moore

Eugene Wilbert "Gene" Moore (born July 29, 1945) is an American former professional basketball player. Born in St. Louis, Missouri, he played college basketball as a center for the Saint Louis Billikens. Standing 6'9", Moore was selected in the second round of the 1968 NBA draft by the Milwaukee Bucks, and was also drafted by the Kentucky Colonels in the American Basketball Association draft.

Moore spent his entire professional career in the ABA, beginning with the Kentucky Colonels from 1968 through 1970. He spent the 1970–71 season with the Texas Chaparrals, then played for the New York Nets during the 1971–72 season. Selected by the expansion San Diego Conquistadors in the 1972 expansion draft, he played two seasons there before finishing his career with the Spirits of St. Louis during the 1974–75 season.

Over his ABA career, Moore averaged 12.0 points and 9.4 rebounds per game and appeared in the 1970 ABA All-Star Game. He holds several ABA records, including the most personal fouls in a season, with 382 during 1969–70; the most personal fouls in a career, with 1,348; and the most disqualifications in a career, with 43.
