Geoff Petrie

Geoffrey Michael Petrie, born April 17, 1948, in Darby, Pennsylvania, is an American former professional basketball player. He attended Springfield High School in Springfield, Pennsylvania, and played collegiate basketball at Princeton University. In his sophomore season, Princeton shared the Ivy League title with a 20–6 record (12–3 in conference), though the team lost a one-game league playoff to a Columbia squad led by Jim McMillian; that year Princeton rose as high as eighth in the AP Poll. Petrie was a first-team All-Ivy selection, with teammate John Hummer named to the second team. The following season he led the Ivy League in scoring at 23.9 points per game in conference games, and the team finished 19–7 (14–0 in the Ivy League).

Petrie went on to play in the National Basketball Association for the Portland Trail Blazers, where he won the NBA Rookie of the Year award in 1971. After retiring as a player, he moved into management and served as President of Basketball Operations for the Sacramento Kings until June 2013.
