George Arthur Foster (born December 1, 1948, in Tuscaloosa, Alabama) was a right-handed outfielder who played in Major League Baseball from 1969 through 1986. Drafted by the San Francisco Giants in the third round of the 1968 draft, he debuted at age 20 before becoming a cornerstone of the Cincinnati Reds. A five-time All-Star, Foster led the National League in home runs twice (1977, 1978) and in RBI three times (1976–1978), winning the NL Most Valuable Player Award in 1977 and a Silver Slugger in 1981. He won two World Series titles with Cincinnati (1975, 1976) and later played for the New York Mets and Chicago White Sox.
