George Andrew Hendrick Jr. (born October 18, 1949) played outfield in Major League Baseball from 1971 to 1988, appearing for the Oakland Athletics, Cleveland Indians, San Diego Padres, St. Louis Cardinals, Pittsburgh Pirates, and California Angels. A four-time All-Star and two-time Silver Slugger Award winner, he won World Series rings with Oakland in 1972 and St. Louis in 1982, serving as an integral contributor to the Cardinals teams that led the NL from 1980 through 1983. He led the major leagues with 20 outfield assists in 1979. Over 18 seasons he posted a .278 batting average with 267 home runs and 1,111 RBI.
