Dossier

George McBride was born 1880, and died 1973. He was associated with the Washington Senators of the American League. He batted and threw right-handed. He appears on the T206 White Border and E254 Colgan's Chips issues, two of the defining sets of the deadball era. The T206 White Border set, issued by the American Tobacco Company between 1909 and 1911 and distributed in cigarette packs, remains the most widely collected of all pre-war baseball card releases. Career statistics and full game-by-game records for many deadball-era contributors are incomplete in the surviving sources, leaving the cards themselves as a primary witness to the player's place in the professional game.
