Joseph Adrien Germain Gagnon was a Canadian professional ice hockey player, born December 9, 1942, and died October 26, 2014. Over the course of his career he appeared in 259 games in the National Hockey League. He played for four franchises: the Montreal Canadiens, the New York Islanders, the Chicago Black Hawks, and the Kansas City Scouts.
Gagnon was an original member of the New York Islanders. In the franchise's first victory, on October 12, 1972, he recorded three points, including the winning goal.
His full name, Joseph Adrien Germain Gagnon, was recorded on his baptism document. In his later years he returned to Chicoutimi, where he died after a long illness on October 26, 2014.
