Glenn Wright

Forest Glenn Wright (1901–1984) was a professional baseball shortstop who played in Major League Baseball from 1924 through 1935 for the Pittsburgh Pirates, Brooklyn Robins/Dodgers, and Chicago White Sox. In his rookie season he set the single-season record for most assists by a shortstop (601), a mark that stood for 56 years until Ozzie Smith broke it in 1980. On May 7, 1925, Wright recorded an unassisted triple play against the Cardinals. That same season he finished fourth in NL MVP voting and was a member of the World Series champion Pittsburgh Pirates. He was the last surviving member of that 1925 championship team.
