Golden Richards

John Golden Richards (December 31, 1950 – February 23, 2024) was a wide receiver in the NFL who played for the Dallas Cowboys and Chicago Bears. He attended Granite High School in South Salt Lake, Utah, where he earned all-state honors in football, basketball, and track, and helped lead the track and field team to a class A state title in 1969. Richards played college football at BYU and Hawaii before reaching the NFL. As a BYU sophomore in 1970, he led the Cougars in receiving with 36 receptions for 513 yards and a touchdown, ranking fifth among WAC receivers.
