Austin William "Goose" Gonsoulin (June 7, 1938 – September 8, 2014) was an American professional football player who played safety in the American Football League for the Denver Broncos and in the National Football League for the San Francisco 49ers. Born in Port Arthur, Texas, he attended high school in Port Arthur, where he was a star running back and punt returner as well as a standout on the track team. Weighing 195 pounds as a senior, he was chosen first-team All-District at halfback in 1955 and named second-team Texas AAAA All-State in football. He recorded the first interception in AFL history and was named to five of the AFL's first six All-Star Teams.
