Greg Luzinski

Gregory Michael Luzinski, nicknamed "the Bull," is an American former professional baseball left fielder who played in Major League Baseball from 1970 to 1984. Born November 22, 1950, in Chicago, he attended Notre Dame High School in Niles, Illinois, and was drafted by the Philadelphia Phillies with the 11th overall pick in the 1968 MLB draft. He made his major league debut on September 9, 1970, at age 19, pinch-hitting for the Phillies in a loss to the New York Mets at Shea Stadium.

Luzinski spent the most prominent years of his career with the Phillies, where he was a four-time All-Star and, alongside Mike Schmidt, formed a power-hitting tandem for the Philadelphia teams of the 1970s. He led the National League in runs batted in as the 1975 RBI champion. In 1978 he received the Roberto Clemente Award in recognition of his involvement in local community affairs. He was a member of the 1980 World Series-winning Phillies club. Listed at 6 feet 1 inch and 255 pounds, he finished his playing career with the Chicago White Sox.

In 1998, Luzinski was inducted into the Philadelphia Phillies Wall of Fame.
