Hal Chase

Dossier
Hal Chase (February 13, 1883 – May 18, 1947), known as "Prince Hal", was born Harold Homer and hailed from Los Gatos, California. At 6-foot and 175 pounds, he batted right-handed and threw left. He played in the major leagues from 1905 through 1919, a 14-season run, spending most of his career with the New York Yankees of the American League. He had broken in professionally in 1904 before reaching the majors. His card record includes appearances on E103 Williams Caramels, E254 Colgan's Chips, E90-1 American Caramel, E92 Croft's Candy, and E92 Croft's Cocoa; in all, 8 sets feature him. Chase was blacklisted by organized baseball after 1919 amid persistent game-fixing allegations. He died May 18, 1947 in Colusa, California and is interred at Oak Hill Memorial Park in San Jose, California.
