Dossier

Samuel Hamilton Shore (February 12, 1886 – October 13, 1918) was a Canadian professional ice hockey player who spent the core of his career with the Ottawa Senators. He first joined the Ottawa Hockey Club in 1904 during the Federal Amateur Hockey League years, when the club was already a Stanley Cup champion, before stints with Winnipeg Seniors, the Winnipeg Maple Leafs, and the Winnipeg Strathconas. He was part of the Maple Leafs' unsuccessful 1908 Stanley Cup challenge against the Montreal Wanderers. Shore returned to Ottawa for the 1909–10 season and appeared on another Stanley Cup-winning club. He died in October 1918 as a result of the influenza epidemic.
