Harold Snepsts

Harold Snepsts was a Canadian professional ice hockey defenseman born October 24, 1954, in Edmonton, Alberta, to Latvian immigrant parents. Selected 59th overall by the Vancouver Canucks in the 1974 NHL amateur draft out of the Edmonton Oil Kings, he developed into a stay-at-home defender known for his hard-working, blue-collar defensive game. Snepsts appeared in 27 games during the 1974–75 season and became a regular the following year. He spent the majority of his 17 NHL seasons (1975–1991) with Vancouver, appearing in the 1982 Stanley Cup Finals, and became one of the most popular players in franchise history.
