Harry Niles

Herbert Clyde "Harry" Niles (September 10, 1880 – April 18, 1953) was born in Buchanan, Michigan. His professional career ran from 1906 through 1910, placing him squarely in the deadball era, and he is most closely identified with the Boston Red Sox of the AL. After his major-league days ended in 1910, he continued in professional ball through 1916. He was listed at 5'8" and 175 pounds. He batted and threw right-handed. For collectors, his most recognized appearance is in the iconic T206 White Border tobacco set issued 1909-11 by the American Tobacco Company. His documented card checklist includes E125 American Caramel Die Cuts, T204 Ramly, and T206 White Border. He died on April 18, 1953 in Sturgis, Michigan and was interred at Oak Lawn Cemetery in Sturgis, Michigan.
