Harvey Lee Catchings (born September 2, 1951) played center in the NBA from 1974 to 1985 with the Philadelphia 76ers, New Jersey Nets, Milwaukee Bucks, and Los Angeles Clippers. A shot-blocking specialist, he is one of 43 NBA players to record at least 10 blocks in a single game, accomplishing the feat in just 20 minutes on March 21, 1975. He reached the Eastern Conference Finals three times and appeared in the 1976–77 NBA Finals with Philadelphia. Career averages were 3.2 points, 5.0 rebounds, and 1.6 blocks per game. He is the father of WNBA standout Tamika Catchings.
