Heinie Wagner

Heinie Wagner card — 1909
1909

Dossier

Heinie Wagner was born 1880, and died 1943. He was associated with the Boston Red Sox of the American League. He batted and threw right-handed. His likeness appears on the T206 White Border, T204 Ramly, and E125 American Caramel Die Cuts. The T206 White Border set, issued by the American Tobacco Company between 1909 and 1911 and distributed in cigarette packs, remains the most widely collected of all pre-war baseball card releases. Career statistics and full game-by-game records for many deadball-era contributors are incomplete in the surviving sources, leaving the cards themselves as a primary witness to the player's place in the professional game.
