Hub Perdue

Herbert Rodney Perdue, known as "The Gallatin Squash" (June 7, 1882 - October 31, 1968). He was a native of Bethpage, Tennessee, listed in playing days at 192 lbs. He batted right-handed and threw right-handed. His major-league career ran from 1911 through 1915, primarily with the Boston Braves of the National League. His broader professional ledger — including minor-league seasons — extends from 1905 through 1923. On the cardboard side, his vintage presence is anchored to the T206 White Border issue, which is where collectors of the period most commonly encounter him. He died on October 31, 1968 in Gallatin, Tennessee. He is interred at Bethpage Cemetery in Bethpage, Tennessee.
