J.C. Caroline

James C. Caroline (January 17, 1933 – November 17, 2017) was a halfback who played college football for the Illinois Fighting Illini, where he led the nation in rushing with 1,256 yards in 1953 and earned consensus All-American honors. He spent time in the Canadian Football League with the Toronto Argonauts and Montreal Alouettes, appearing in the 1955 Grey Cup, before the Chicago Bears selected him with the 82nd overall pick in the 1956 NFL Draft. Caroline went on to play ten seasons in Chicago. He was inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame in 1980.
