Jack Rudnay

John Carl Rudnay (born November 20, 1947) is an American former professional football player who spent his entire 13-year career as a center for the Kansas City Chiefs of the National Football League. He played college football for the Northwestern Wildcats, where he lined up at both center and defensive tackle, and graduated from Northwestern University in Evanston, Illinois, in 1969. Earlier, he had graduated in 1965 from Kenston High School in Geauga County, southeast of Cleveland. While at Northwestern he became a member of the Sigma Chi fraternity.

Rudnay was a fourth-round draft choice of the American Football League's Kansas City Chiefs in 1969. He suffered a back injury in the College All-Star Game following his senior year and missed the Chiefs' championship season as a result. Although drafted by an AFL team, he never appeared in an American Football League game; his first season was 1970, after the Chiefs had joined the NFL. He went on to play 144 consecutive games and 178 games in all with Kansas City, the third most ever by a Chiefs offensive lineman, and was regarded as one of the finest centers in the National Football League.
