James Finks

James Edward Finks (1927–1994) was an American professional football player and executive. Born in St. Louis, Missouri, he attended the University of Tulsa before being selected by the Pittsburgh Steelers in the 12th round of the 1949 NFL Draft. He played defensive back and quarterback for Pittsburgh through the 1955 season. Finks was also drafted by the Cincinnati Reds as a catcher in 1948. After his playing career, he moved into coaching and front-office work, serving as an assistant at Notre Dame before joining the Calgary Stampeders of the CFL, where he became general manager in 1957.
