James Gardiner

Jake William Gardiner, born July 4, 1990, in Minneapolis, Minnesota, is an American former professional ice hockey defenseman. A native of Hopkins, Minnesota, Gardiner grew up playing forward before converting to defense during his senior season at Minnetonka High School, going on to represent Team USA's under-18 Select team in his new position. He was selected 17th overall by the Anaheim Ducks in the 2008 NHL Entry Draft. Gardiner went on to play in the National Hockey League with the Toronto Maple Leafs and Carolina Hurricanes.
