Jerome Barkum

Jerome Barkum (born July 18, 1950) played 12 seasons as a wide receiver and tight end for the New York Jets. Drafted out of Jackson State University with the 9th overall pick in the 1972 NFL Draft, he earned Little All-America honors in 1971 before turning pro. In 1973, his second NFL season, he was selected to the Pro Bowl as a wide receiver. Barkum later shifted to tight end while remaining a reliable target in the Jets offense, finishing his career with 40 touchdown receptions. He was part of the 1982 Jets team that reached the AFC Championship.
