Jim Hickman

James Lucius Hickman (May 10, 1937 – June 25, 2016), nicknamed "Gentleman Jim," was an outfielder and first baseman who spent 13 seasons in Major League Baseball with the New York Mets, Los Angeles Dodgers, Chicago Cubs, and St. Louis Cardinals. Originally signed by the Cardinals as an amateur free agent before the 1956 season, he was selected by the expansion Mets in the 1961 draft. In 624 games with New York from 1962 to 1966, he batted .241 with 60 home runs and 210 RBI. On August 7, 1963, he became the first Met to hit for the cycle — a natural cycle — and later that season hit the final home run ever struck at the Polo Grounds.
