Jim Holt

James William Holt (1944–2019) was a professional baseball outfielder and first baseman who played in the major leagues from 1968 to 1976. A graduate of Graham High School in North Carolina, he was drafted by the Kansas City Athletics in 1965, though military service in Vietnam delayed his professional career. Holt spent the majority of his career with the Minnesota Twins (1968–1974) before joining the Oakland Athletics, with whom he was part of the 1974 World Series championship team. In that Series he delivered a pinch-hit single and drove in two runs in Game Four. He finished with a .265 career batting average and a .993 fielding percentage across 707 games.
