Jim Houston

James Edward Houston (November 3, 1937 – September 11, 2018) played end at Ohio State under head coach Woody Hayes, earning All-America honors in 1958 and 1959. A three-year starter and twice team MVP, he was elected team captain as a senior and contributed on both sides of the ball, helping the Buckeyes win a national championship in 1957. He then spent 13 seasons as a linebacker with the Cleveland Browns in the NFL. Houston was inducted into the Ohio State Varsity O Hall of Fame in 1979, named to the Ohio State Football All-Century Team in 2000, and elected to the College Football Hall of Fame in 2005.
