Jim Nash

James Edwin Nash (born February 9, 1945) was a right-handed pitcher who debuted on July 3, 1966, with the Kansas City Athletics after signing as a free agent. His rookie season was exceptional — he went 12–1 with a 2.06 ERA in 127 innings as part of the Athletics' young pitching corps, finishing as the runner-up for the American League Rookie of the Year Award behind Tommie Agee. He appeared on the cover of Sports Illustrated on March 13, 1967, alongside Catfish Hunter and Blue Moon Odom. Nash spent four seasons with the Athletics, three with the Atlanta Braves, and finished his career with the Philadelphia Phillies in 1972, compiling a 68–64 record with a 3.58 ERA.
