Jim Otis was a running back in the National Football League who played nine seasons during the 1970s. He played college football at Ohio State University, where he became the first Buckeye to rush for over 1,000 yards in a single season and earned consensus All-American and first-team All-Big Ten honors as a senior in 1969. Otis played professionally for the New Orleans Saints, Kansas City Chiefs, and St. Louis Cardinals. He led the NFC in rushing in 1975 and was selected to the Pro Bowl that year. He retired after the 1978 season as the Cardinals' all-time leader in rushing yards and rushing attempts.
