Dossier

John Brisker (June 15, 1947 – declared dead May 29, 1985) was an American professional basketball player. A 6′5″ forward/guard, he played college basketball for the Toledo Rockets at the University of Toledo, appearing in only six games of what was to have been his senior season before leaving the team in 1968. He was selected as a supplemental draft pick by the Philadelphia 76ers in the 1969 NBA draft.

Brisker began his professional career with the Pittsburgh Pipers, later the Condors, of the American Basketball Association. There he was named a two-time ABA All-Star and earned a reputation as one of the league's premier tough guys. From 1972 to 1975 he played for the Seattle SuperSonics of the National Basketball Association.

Brisker allegedly travelled to Uganda in 1978, where he disappeared after last making contact with his girlfriend on April 11, 1978. He was declared dead on May 29, 1985, in order to settle his estate, though his final movements remain unknown and his death was doubted by the State Department.
