John Callison

John Wesley Callison (March 12, 1939 – October 12, 2006) was a right fielder who spent 16 seasons in Major League Baseball, most notably a decade with the Philadelphia Phillies from 1960 through 1969. Born in Qualls, Oklahoma, he batted left-handed and threw right-handed, signing with the Chicago White Sox out of East Bakersfield High School in 1957. A three-time All-Star who appeared in four All-Star Games, Callison led the National League in triples twice and doubles once, and won MVP honors at the 1964 All-Star Game while finishing runner-up for the NL Most Valuable Player Award that season. He also led the NL in outfield assists four consecutive times and finished his career among the top five Phillies in home runs (185) and triples (84).
