John Ross Roach

John Ross Roach (June 23, 1900 – July 9, 1973) was a Canadian professional ice hockey goaltender who played in the National Hockey League from 1921 to 1935. Born in Port Perry, Ontario, Roach was known for his acrobatic style and earned nicknames including "Little Napoleon" and "The Port Perry Cucumber." He won the Stanley Cup in 1922 with the Toronto St. Patricks, recording a shutout in Game 4 of the Final — the first by a rookie goaltender in Stanley Cup history. A First Team All-Star in 1932–33, he became the first goaltender to win 200 career games and retired with 219 victories and 58 shutouts.
